Vikram Jit Singh is one of India's finest and bravest war correspondents who was working for The Indian Express in Srinagar since October 1997 when the Kargil War broke out. Having worked extensively with the Indian Army while reporting from their innermost cordons about Counter-insurgency Operations, he was given the unique opportunity of covering the Kargil War from the high-altitude frontlines with the troops under fire. Singh again took a reporting assignment to Kashmir in 2004 for India TV and was stationed in Srinagar.
Singh entered the profession of Journalism in 1992.
In addition to being a war correspondent, Singh is a nature lover and wildlife expert and writes columns regularly for The Times of India and Hindustan Times in Chandigarh. Singh has featured in several podcasts and national and regional TV interviews relating to defence, security, geopolitics, Kashmir conflict and the Kargil War.
