Only Pilot to Be Awarded the Param Vir Chakra Posthumously

Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Sekhon was the only IAF officer who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his lone defence of the Srinagar Air Base during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.
