According to a pro-Russian military blogger, a top Russian general, who served as the chief of staff of the 35th Combined Arms Army, Major General Sergei Goryachev, was reportedly killed in a missile strike while leading troops in southern Ukraine on 12 June. The incident occurred during intense clashes in the Vremivka Ledge area of the southern Donetsk region. In response, Ukraine launched a counter-offensive resulting in the liberation of four villages in the region.
