Kolkata Hosts the Naval Outreach Programme

The event was organised by the Naval Liaison Cell in Barrackpore, under the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) and was aimed at promoting an ecosystem that is favorable to innovate, integrate and indigenise. Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahindru, DCNS, presided over the inaugural session and senior officials from triservices, Coast Guard, DRDO, and CII-ER shared their views on indigenization. The event witnessed active participation from more than 100 industry partners in and around Kolkata. The second edition of the Manual for Indigenisation of Air Stores (MINAS) was also released during the event by DCNS, which is a guiding document for Naval Indigenisation agencies. This contemporary edition of the manual includes simplified procedures for fast-tracking Indigenisation and avenues to effectively utilise existing financial regulations. Technical sessions by Indian Naval agencies and industry partners followed the inaugural session, which were reviewed by Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal, ACNS(AM).
