Around 35 soldiers participating in a driving training camp near Sakleshpur, India, reportedly fell ill after consuming dinner on Tuesday. They were promptly admitted to the government hospital in Sakleshpur.
On Wednesday morning, the affected soldiers began experiencing discomfort and irregular bowel movements, leading to their urgent transfer to the hospital.
According to Shivaswamy, the District Health Officer, approximately 110 soldiers had consumed food at the camp the previous evening. Out of this group, 35 individuals reported feeling unwell. Shivaswamy reassured that the soldiers received treatment from the hospital's doctors and were subsequently discharged, emphasising that there is no cause for concern.
Officials from the Health and Family Welfare Department gathered samples of the food and drinking water from the Kudugarahalli camp near Sakleshpur, suspecting a potential case of food poisoning. These samples will be sent for laboratory examination, with the results expected to reveal the underlying causes of the soldiers' illness.
Sakleshpur MLA Cement Manju, along with senior police officers, visited the hospital to inquire about the soldiers' health condition.
