The Southern Command of the Indian Army organised a seminar on the topic of ‘Conciliation and Role of Counsellors in Saving Marriages’ in Pune.
The seminar was attended by Southern Command officers and their spouses, and featured renowned experts in the field of relationship counselling and family law, including Dr Aruna Kulkarni and senior advocate Vrishali Vaidya. The attendees participated in an interactive session to learn valuable communication skills, conflict resolution strategies and other essential tools for building a strong, lasting partnership. The event was aimed at promoting strong and healthy relationships amongst couples, particularly those in the Army who face prolonged periods of separation. Subeena Arora, the ex-officio president of the Southern Command Regional Chapter of Army Wives’ Welfare Association (AWWA), expressed her confidence that the strategies and insights received in the seminar will help resolve a number of cases in their initial stages. It is important to note that all major Armed Forces hospitals have well-equipped psychiatry wings capable of providing high-quality care and support.
