Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver a speech at a conference on 1 April, where top military officials will focus on enhancing jointness and integration amongst themselves. The Combined Commanders Conference, which formally begins on March 30th and lasts for three days, will take place in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, at the Kushabhau Thakre Hall.
During the event, the Prime Minister is expected to discuss present security challenges and the implementation of ongoing schemes and projects aimed at improving integration and jointness within the defence forces. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan will address the conference on the first day, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address it on the second day, while the main focus of the event will be the Prime Minister's speech on the last day. The conference will also cover topics related to the creation of theatre commands, and the Indian military will showcase innovations and implementations of Make in India in the defence sector, including the Asmi machine pistol developed by Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Bansod of the Indian Army. Additionally, the Navy and Air Force are expected to present innovations to improve combat readiness and reduce imports. Along with the combined defence services and services chiefs, other military officials attending the conference will include the three vice chiefs, chiefs of staff committee, seven army command chiefs, six air command chiefs, and the three Indian navy command chiefs.
