A petition seeking disclosure of test marks and selection criteria for Agniveers has led to the Madhya Pradesh High Court issuing notices to the Union Government and the Army.
The nine petitioners who had unsuccessfully taken part in the recruitment process in Madhya Pradesh last year, with physical tests held from 15-25 September and a written test on 13 November, have approached the court seeking disclosure of cut off marks, criteria for the selection process, marks of the written and physical tests, as well as the names of all the candidates selected for Agniveer (General Duty) and Agniveer (Tradesmen) positions during this recruitment drive. The results of the recruitment drive were announced on 26 November. According to their counsel, advocate N.S. Ruprah, the petitioners hoped to clear the tests and approached the High Court for relief by seeking direction to the respondents to disclose their OMR sheets and marks in the written tests. The respondents in the petition are the Union government through the Defence Secretary and the Recruitment Officer Headquarters Recruiting Zone (MP & CG) of the Indian Army based at Jabalpur. Justice Vishal Dhagat of the High Court issued the notices, which must be returned by the week commencing from 1 May.
