In a significant advancement of relations, India and Saudi Arabia are currently engaged in their inaugural Joint Military Exercise called Sada Tanseeq. This exercise, taking place in Mahajan, Rajasthan, spans from January 29th to February 10th, 2024.
The Royal Saudi Land Forces are represented by a contingent of 45 personnel, while the Indian Army's contingent, consisting of 45 individuals, is represented by a Battalion from the Brigade of the Guards (Mechanised Infantry).
The primary objective of the exercise is to train troops from both nations for Joint Operations in Semi-Desert terrain, aligning with Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. This collaborative effort aims to share best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for operations in the sub-conventional domain, fostering interoperability, camaraderie, and mutual understanding between the participating troops.
The Ministry of Defence highlighted that the exercise serves as an opportunity for both contingents to strengthen their bonds, providing a platform to achieve shared security objectives, enhance defense cooperation, and bolster bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.
The exercise involves various activities such as establishing a Mobile Vehicle Check Post, conducting Cordon & Search Operations, practicing House Intervention Drills, engaging in Reflex Shooting, executing Slithering maneuvers, and honing Sniper Firing skills. Overall, the exercise serves as a platform to deepen the connection between the two contingents and work towards shared security goals, fostering increased levels of defense cooperation and stronger bilateral relations.
