On Sunday, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Manoj Pande, departed for Australia for a four-day trip aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between the Armed Forces of India and Australia.
During his visit, General Pande will engage with various senior military officials from different branches of the Australian Defence Forces, including the Chief of the Defence Force and the Chief of the Australian Army and Air Force. The discussions will focus on ways to strengthen India-Australia defence relations through various avenues. The two countries have already engaged in diverse activities, such as bilateral visits by senior officers, reciprocal training exercises and courses of instruction, and other engagements that have built strong camaraderie between the two forces. The COAS's visit is expected to further bolster trust and understanding between the armies of the two nations.
