On Wednesday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the five-day Fauji Mela at Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya in Bhopal, with the presence of GOC-in-C Northern Army Command Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi and senior officers from the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
During the inauguration, Chouhan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to worship Shakti through the military fair and arms exhibition during the Navratri festival. He also mentioned that the Commander's conference of all three wings would be held in Bhopal from 30 March 30 to 1 April, with the participation of Prime Minister Modi, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and the senior-most officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The Chief Minister inspected the weapons and equipment displayed by the three wings at the military fair and even fired at a target with an M-4 gun that could shoot up to a distance of 300 metres. Chouhan observed the activities of the Navy on laser target designator, fagot launcher, and virtual reality set during the Mela. He also had a look at the functioning of Siachen survival gear, light strike rifle, communication rover, Arjun battle tank, Air Force aircraft operation, and received information regarding the technology. Chouhan praised the bravery of the Indian Army and stated that the Indian Army is one of the most capable in the world. He added that India has always responded to attacks on its sovereignty with full force, citing examples of the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, the Kargil war, and the surgical strike. Chouhan emphasised that the Indian Army has also made it clear to China that India is not less powerful than anyone.
