The Indian Air Force (IAF) recently conducted a joint exercise with the Indian Army in the central sector, showcasing their operational readiness by deploying multiple combat assets. The exercise aimed to simulate realistic combat situations for all participants. The IAF, in a tweet, announced the successful completion of the exercise but did not disclose specific details regarding the date and venue.
This joint exercise follows the IAF's recent strategic missions over the Indian Ocean region, involving the participation of Rafale and Su-30MKI jets. Just a few days prior, a fleet of Su-30MKI jets conducted an eight-hour strategic mission over the Indian Ocean, highlighting their operational prowess and capability for long-range missions. Prior to that, four Rafale aircraft undertook a six-hour mission covering the eastern region of the Indian Ocean. These missions were conducted against the backdrop of China's increasing presence in the Indian Ocean, an area traditionally considered the Indian Navy's domain.
The acquisition of Rafale jets marked a significant milestone for India, as it was the country's first major purchase of fighter planes in 23 years since the procurement of Sukhoi jets from Russia. The Rafale jets possess the capability to carry a wide range of potent weapons, further enhancing India's defence capabilities.
The joint exercise between the IAF and the Indian Army serves as a testament to the coordination and readiness of India's armed forces, strengthening their overall defence capabilities and preparedness to tackle various security challenges effectively.
