In a recent incident during an operational training sortie, the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) of the Indian Air Force crashed near Jaisalmer. Fortunately, the pilot ejected safely from the aircraft.
The crash took place around 100 km away from the site of Pokhran, where the tri-services firepower demonstration exercise, Bharat Shakti, was being conducted in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and RM Rajnath Singh.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with initial reports pointing towards engine failure as a potential factor. A Court of Inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances leading to this unfortunate event. This marks the first accident involving the indigenous Tejas jet in its 23-year history, highlighting its otherwise stellar safety record.
