The sortie marked a significant moment, highlighting India’s growing self-reliance in defence aviation. The LCH ‘Prachand,’ manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is the country’s first indigenously designed and developed combat helicopter. Built for high-altitude operations and modern battlefield requirements, it represents a major milestone in India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
Officials said the President’s participation underscored her support for the armed forces and indigenous defence manufacturing initiatives.
