India’s Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, successfully carried out a salvo launch of two indigenously developed Pralay missiles in quick succession from the same launcher off the coast of Odisha. The test, conducted at around 10:30 am from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, was part of user evaluation trials for the missile system.
According to official sources, both missiles followed their intended trajectories and achieved all the planned flight objectives. The performance was monitored by tracking sensors deployed by the Integrated Test Range, while telemetry systems aboard nearby ships confirmed the terminal events at the designated impact points.
Pralay is an indigenously developed solid-fuel, quasi-ballistic missile featuring advanced guidance and navigation systems that enable high accuracy and reliability. Designed for precision strikes, the missile can be equipped with multiple warhead configurations, allowing it to effectively engage a broad spectrum of targets under diverse operational conditions.

DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat also extended his congratulations to the teams behind the test.
The successful tests mark a new milestone in the Pralay missile’s user evaluation process and are seen as a key step toward its imminent induction into the Indian Armed Forces.
