Operation Sindoor: 4 Books Tracing India’s Deep Strikes, Air Defence & the Pakistan Conflict
In May 2025, the skies over Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir lit up—not by fireworks but by drones, missiles and air defence weapons. Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces to destroy terror camps deep inside Pakistan, was a fierce response to the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, at the Baisaran Valley in J&K.
India’s mission on the night of May 6-7 was limited: to eliminate nine identified terror camps inside Pakistan. But Pakistan’s retaliation went far beyond. Their forces not only violated the ceasefire agreement along the LoC but also unleashed UAVs, drones, and advanced air defence weapons against India’s military and civilian infrastructure in the days that followed. Thanks to India’s robust air defence, the impact was reduced to a bare minimum. Still, for four tense days, the world watched as two nuclear powers clashed in the skies.
What emerged in official press conferences was only part of the story. Much about Operation Sindoor remains untold; facts unexplored, narratives unfinished. To uncover these perspectives, we’ve curated four recently released books that capture the conflict from different vantage points. Each is a must-read to understand how the war unfolded in the skies, on the ground, and at sea.
