Indian Military Officers Who Turned Writers—and Gave Us History From the Inside
Those who have lived the fauji life—marched with their units, fought on the front lines, and spent years in remote military stations—carry within them stories that are inspiring, heartbreaking, and deeply important to our collective memory. These are not second-hand accounts or distant retellings, but lived experiences shaped by service, sacrifice, and duty. Over the years, some Indian military officers chose to put pen to paper, documenting wars, leadership, brotherhood, and loss as they saw it from the inside.
In this blog, we honour and celebrate these Indian military officers who not only served the nation in uniform but also gave us an invaluable insider’s view of the events that shaped India’s military history.
